Ready to Lead in AI Revolution? Balance Technology & Humanity for Success
It was great to me asked to be on the podcast for Leaders with Jermery Blain. He is a great host and has an amazing following of forward-thinking leaders and business owners. He asked me to come on to talk about
Artificial Intelligence — The new industrial revolution for leaders to understand and master
And it is appearing on this podcast that has inspired some more thoughts about it. Which is linked into the some of the thinking behind the keynotes that I am doing for clients. This whole point about changing leadership and thinking models due to AI.
As leaders to determine how they will utilize this new technology and the increased productivity. But will they prioritize profit at the expense of employees, or will they create a more balanced and fulfilling work environment?
I had the same chats with some senior leadership team people whilst doing some AI marketing training the other day in Manchester.
The key is to embrace the AI revolution while ensuring that human workers are still valued and empowered. By finding the right balance between AI and human input, businesses can maximize their potential and drive innovation and growth. It’s time to harness the power of AI and shape the future of work for the better.
The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Business
In this episode of the Rethink Leadership podcast, host Jeremy Blaine welcomes back Dan Sodergren, a futurist and expert in artificial intelligence and digital marketing. They discuss the implications of AI on business and how it can shape the future of leadership. Dan, who has been working with AI for over a decade and has valuable connections in the industry, shares his insights on the rapid growth and potential of AI in various fields.
As technology continues to advance, it’s crucial for business leaders to stay informed about AI and its impact on the business world. AI has the potential to revolutionize not only industries but also the way leaders and organizations operate. It can be a powerful tool for boosting productivity and efficiency, while also preserving the human touch in the digital era. Amidst the concerns and skepticism surrounding AI, it’s essential to focus on the positive aspects and embrace its potential to help us be more human. As Dan suggests, celebrating technology that supports human connection is key, and AI can be a significant enabler in achieving this balance.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models are revolutionizing the way organizations operate. While some may argue that true AI requires sentience, the power of computer intelligence combined with clever algorithms is driving the fifth industrial revolution. This rapid pace of change has caught many by surprise, including futurists like myself. In this article, we will explore how this technological advancement will impact small, medium, and large multinational organizations.
But just below is a great graphic from a new white paper by Ethan Mollick that shows that…
“Consultants using the GPT-4 AI finished 12.2% more tasks on average. Completed tasks 25.1% more quickly. With 40% higher quality results than those without.”
Which just shows what an amazing shift AI can bring in the productivity stakes — and that’s not even considering the BIGGER shift…
The Shift to Remote Work and Hybrid Work Models
The fourth industrial revolution, triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, introduced remote work as a global experiment. Almost overnight, the percentage of knowledge workers engaged in remote work jumped from 4% to 90%. This hybrid work model is here to stay, and it has the potential to greatly increase productivity. However, the emergence of AI has accelerated this transformation in unexpected ways. It has become clear that AI technology will play a crucial role in shaping the future of work. Many companies, including mine, have already invested in AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity and streamline operations.
With the advent of large language models, such as GPT-3 and GPT-4, the possibilities for organizations have expanded exponentially. These models have the knowledge of an intern, capable of providing valuable insights on a wide range of topics. Imagine having access to an intern who knows everything about everything, right at your fingertips.
“The difference between using GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 is like having a 16-year-old versus a 21-year-old intern.” (Dan Sodergren)
It’s crucial to recognize the value of investing in advanced versions to fully unlock the potential of these large language models. Whether you are working from home or working with your AI intern in your office.
Conclusion
AI and large language models are reshaping the landscape of organizations. The fifth industrial revolution is underway, and organizations must adapt to harness the power of this transformative technology. Remote work and hybrid work models have become the norm, and AI-driven solutions are necessary to thrive in this new era.
By leveraging large language models like GPT-4, organizations can tap into the extensive knowledge they offer and unlock a world of possibilities. It’s time to embrace this revolution and explore the endless opportunities it presents for businesses of all sizes.
